I’m over halfway through Piper’s classic, Desiring God, and will have a review here when complete. I want to encourage you to read this book and wrestle with its content. Christian Hedonism is a strange term, and when considered by the world’s view of hedonism, it does not smack of something good or true. Piper makes a solid, Biblical case for the concept and then lays bare its impact across the fullness of being a follower of Jesus. I just finished the chapter on prayer and it was one of those important moments where my understanding is improved and I am driven to action, running to the Father in the freedom of Jesus.

I’ll have quotes and thoughts by chapters in the review, but for now here’s a quote on prayer to chew on:

“If the pump of love runs dry, it is because the pipe of prayer isn’t deep enough.” (p.178)
